I have to take the GRE at the end of the month.. This sucks, I don't understand the reason for it. They tell you immediately that the GRE is not a test of your college knowledge or intelligence. SOOO what is it a test for exactly? I hate having to study for it and I hate all the words they include in the verbal section. Words that have not been used in the 21st century.. alacrity, lassitude... are you kidding me?
Well as you can guess my study plans are not going well at all. I have a zillion or so words to memorize, along with their synonyms and antonyms... While everyone will be shopping, stuffing themselves, shopping, hanging out and yes, even more shopping, I will be stuck at home trying to cram for the stupid GRE and failing miserabley. Of course it doesn't help that I need my score to be in the top 10%, no pressure there at all!!
Ok-- rant mode off-- All I can say is IT SUCKS BEING ME.. :'(

How do you study for a GRE. It was a long time ago but I think I only made sure I was well rested before it. With no trouble I was in the 92 percentile. None of the group from my school was below the 85 percentile and one of us was actually in the 99 percentile. It was the GRE for Philosophy. Relax! try to be clear headed writing it.

Thanks Tossing Pebbles in the Stream for finding my blog, reading it, posting a comment and well for the advice! I did the GRE. I actually prepared for it and did some of the ETS retired exams.
I still managed to score less than I should. I actually got less on the actual exam than on the retired ones. Oh well, at least it is over.
